Enriching Faith, Celebrating Life Together

Sunday School

When: Every Sunday

Learning about the Bible stories is incorporated into the Children’s Sermon each week. Once a month the children gather together for a special event, it may be an outreach activity, or other way of connecting the Bible story to their lives of faith outside of church.

Each week, kids are sent home with activities that they can do with their families to further deepen their experience of God’s word.

We also have many outreach events for the community including Trunk or Treat, an Easter Egg Hunt, and game nights.

“Kids teach the faith just as much as the adults do!”

Confirmation

When: 1st Sunday of the Month

10:15 - 11:15 AM

Confirmation (or affirmation of baptism) challenges youth to deepen their faith, understand the Bible better, and grow closer to God.

To facilitate these goals, Newport Lutheran uses "Narratology" for our curriculum.

"Narratology focuses on communicating the faith through a mentor-based, intergenerational, non-classroom-based approach."

We meet once a month to further discuss the topics.

“Confirmation is about learning real faith & applying it to everyday life.”

Prayer Partners

We want each child in the congregation to be prayed for by name on a regular basis. To facilitate this we have developed our Prayer Partner program. Each child is matched with an adult. This adult will pray for that child, send them a card on their birthday, and there are two special events held at church so the prayer partners and children can connect with each other.

It is a great way for to get to know more people. Parents are always welcome to be present during the two special events to watch their child experience the joy of a prayer partner.

“The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.”
